Praising the Lord

Frazzle Free Christmas Week 3 of 8, Day 2 of 6
Thanksgiving Day 4 of 30

Difficult days call for praise measures. We are taking a challenge as a church to not complain in the month of November. But you cannot simply not complain, you must replace it with praise. Otherwise we will just build up into balls of frustration. Today was one of those days that I needed to remind myself quite often to praise. It was not so much that I wanted to complain, simply just heavy hearted. But I sang the Desert Song over and over "All of my life, in every season, You are still God, and I have a reason to worship."

So, on that note, lets look at our Thanksgiving Scripture:

November 4: "Bless the LORD, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits." Psalm 103:1-2

Thank you Card: Today let's thank a current mentor (we will thank past mentors later this month, maybe tomorrow). Someone that you admire, look up to, learn from. Someone you consider your mentor. If you don't have someone like that then perhaps you should pray about getting someone. It is always a good thing to have the person in your life that will be honest and correct you when needed, encourage you when you are in the right and help you through the confusing. Accountability.

Celebration: Make a hand turkey. I don't care how old, serious, or unartistic you are. This is a good reminder of how to laugh. Trace your hand. Draw a face on the thumb and color the rest of the fingers as feathers. There's your turkey hand. Simple simple. You can be more creative, cut it out, make bigger feathers, write stuff on each finger that you are thankful for. I don't care if you just throw it away, make it regardless. Sometimes we need to remember to be silly and laugh and have fun. So grab someone else and make a hand turkey!
